281.Wishes for zips

Choker and badge made by me,Topshops jeans, vintage earrings, charity shop boots, shirt, top, ring and belt hand me downs from my mum

Push It- Salt n Pepa
That first photo is just for your amusement,I must have been in mid dance or something.
Basically, this was my outfit on Sunday...but I haven't got any clever/interesting commentary to make today. I really need to take my boots to the market, as they are in dire need of new zips to be sewn in(I also want to thread them with purple laces)-it's a real bummer as I can't wear them outside.

280.Wishes to keep crafting

I've been meaning to do a post showing you all some of the crafty things I did in my last holiday(it it under a week till my next holiday and then only another week of school,oh my jeezzzz mehdulfu, whoooo). So here goes....

Just a basic fabric tube I made, with a press stud.Acts as a great choker, plus reminds me of cat collars if I wear it with this little heart charm that I ripped off some other necklace.

Two pairs of earrings-found these gems whilst sifting through my beadbox, and just fixed them on to some earring hooks with my jewelry plyers.
Just some carboard designs I made, covered in plastic-ey stuff(sorry for my terrible describing skills),and then badge pins stuck to the back.I like the heart one the most,it's super cool.I love mixing vintage girly looking stuff with black-this looks awesome pinned to my black velvet cardigan(plus the backs of these are all painted gold, very cool)
Painted and flowered up my door name plaque.

Finally, this necklace. The glass cat charm was part of a keyring I found in between the seats of my car(such a cool place to find things)-the keyring soon feel apart but I wanted to save the charm. So with some glue, wire, gold paint and carboad I constructed the little loop.Finished it by threading it to a chain that I earlier took apart.

If you put up with my dreadful photos and describing skills then you're awesome.English Literature exam revision to continue.

279.Wishes for fairies and blood

So I went prom dress shopping today. Scary.I don't get the hype over this event, and am looking forward far more to the party afterwards, rather than the event. So we eat and dance ,celebrate our secondary school years, and get sentimental over the fact that tons of people I never really got to know are leaving. No big deal. But hey ho,I'm going along with the tradition.

Back to the dress....I detest prommy prom dresses.I detest those tacky sequiny horrible things, that poof, and cost stupid amounts of money.I knew it would be hard to find something my sort of style, that was still "acceptable".Luckly I've found something today, thats quite wonderful, but a little girly-something that I find sort of cringe worthy(except if its girly in the obvious over the top sickly creepy pink, and lace sort of way). I can't really culminate the vibes I want to give off in words so......

The thing I like the most about my dress is that is makes me think of dusty vintage wedding dresses hidden away in attics. So the theme to go with this would be delicate white flowers, crimson lipstick, fairies and blood. Achieving this feel will be next to impossible. oh well.

278.Wishes to be fascinating

With the wonders of tumblr and a little of my own curious researching I discovered that Morrisey had a pen pal in the early 80's (pre the smiths). The collection of letters were later published by the reciever,Robert Mackie,so if you're interested heres the link.I figured I hadn't done any smiths obsessed posts in a while, plus reading those letters was really fascinating.2 exams over, another bazillion to go.

ps also discovered a couple more letters here, plus Robert Mackie's desription of meeting morrisey.

277.Wishes to listen to the little sparrow

Sous le ciel de Paris

Non,Je ne regrette rien

I watched "La Vie en Rose" last night, and thought it was beautiful.I knew Edith's life was tragic, but to see it brought to life in a movie made it so much more heartbreaking. Now all I want to do is listen to her. My mum has an old LP with all her famous songs, but my brother is refusing me to play it because it's incredibly loud(the record player is messed up,and only plays at one volume).A tragedy in its self.

ps blogger went weird on me,and deleted comments from my last post...sorry for no replies.

276.Wishes for a rucksack

So whilst in Leeds I discovered these really cool canvas rucksacks by BAGGU.I love rucksacks(in year 7 I used to tie ribbons round the straps of my rucksack and sew on little patches),yet only own one...I'd love one of the above plus a nice leather vintage one.I can't wait till sumer, maybe I'll try tie dying some fabric and crafting my own.I have so many crafty projects lined up for summer, which will be superly imense.

275.Wishes to be an Andie

So I watched Pretty in Pink, and would have liked to do an outfit inspired by Andie, but don't have access to a camera.Sucks.Instead,I'll try provide some "deep",thoughtful commentary on the coolness of this film....
wooh at big swishy skirts

Really like the huge black jacket over this dress

The bowler hat and scarf combination is wonderful.Always wanted a black bowler hat, this has just induced more craving.

yay at little references to the smiths throughout this movie

granny chic

I so need to sew lace onto my cardigans
This outfit reminded me a little of an old photo of my mum, being a fellow red head who at one time had a cool perm.

Okay this is the bit were I get all "deep". So I could totally relate to this movie for some ,and the character Andie for the following reasons:-
1.Yeah,Andie is a red head.and if you didn't already know,I am too.
2.Andie likes fashion, sewing, thrifting and vintage-all that good stuff.
3.Andie feels to some extent a social outcast.
4.Andie is sort of poor. I know it sounds whiny, but I'm not particulary rich(don't get me wrong,I'm VERY grateful for what I have),yet go to a somewhat rich kid school, and you sort of feel those rich/poor boundaries.

Mainly what I liked was Andie's bravery to just wear what the fuck she wants. Recently,I got criticised by a friends friend, somebody I hardly know. Her criticism on my looks/taste saddened me a little,to feel that kind of hatred towards someone you've not even spoke to was sort of depressing.I'm not terribly naive to believe that everyone is happy families, gets along cheeringly-I've had this sort of abuse before. It was more so,because this girls insults were not general flippant things(ie ginner, freak,or staring meanly at your clothing),but we're quite focused on my taste for vintage and other personal traits. Girl hate is a sad destructive thing.

Anywho,I do trip up at times with my insecurity "issues"(don't worry,I'm not really unconfident, except with talking to new people) . I remember last non-uniform day I completely changed my choice of outfit, and wore something what I felt was less daring, because I was scared of comments. This isn't something that happens too often with me,but I'd like that feeling to never be there. So I want to push boundaries, and be as brave as Andie. The most important thing I tell myself is you've only got one life, why waste it being a slave to others opinions.

Plus, the blogosphere is also a super inspiring place of people expressing themselves like Andie, which is very cool.

274.Wishes to be a kinderwhore

So I've probably been spending unhealthy amounts of time reading about tons of people and places and styles from the past the last couple of nights.Past generations always interest me,all these lives...I think my mind romanticises it all to a point that it becomes some infinite amazing thing. Why is our generation so shitty?
Anywho, been reading about Kat Bjelland, brat pack movies(I'm hoping this weekend to watch pretty in pink and sixteen candles;as I've mentioned before on this blog,I have a love affair with 80's O.T.T movies),Sid and Nancy, the Kinderwhore style,Courtney Love/Hole, and feminist icons. All inspiring good vibes(okay, not so much from Sid and Nancy, sort of depressing really).
I am now going to write up a revision time table, something I've been refusing to do for a while.I hate the thought, but being terribly un-organisedand lazy about revision,I figured it was about time.
