285.Wishes to kiss the sky

So I've spent a large portion of this morning watching woodstock footage on youtube.I guess I've always had a fascination with hippie culture, due to my parents being part of that generation...hearing the stories, constantly looking at the photo albums, listening to some of the music...it just sort of swells in you.I have a big love for Jefferson Airplane, and I'm starting to get into Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix too. Oh,this all fills me with that dreadfully familiar "why can't our decade be cooool?" vibe. I'm a record stuck on repeat.
Anyways,I seriously reccomend watching the original 3 hour documentary, you get such a great feel for the time from it,plus it's really interesting hearing peoples accounts of the event. I only watched about 50 minutes of it on youtube because I'm gonna end up overdoing our bandwidth, and I don't want my brother to have to pay an extra tenner on our bill.....
gonna walk to central library and see if I can get it on loan instead.

ps Grace Slick is my new heroine.

I have this all too often. Mom and dad were both straight out of it (Papa managed CSNY and Joni Mitchell... mom was an artist livin on a commune)... it has been intrinsically instilled in my every orphus :)
Buy Woodstock on Amazon, you won't be disappointed. I reference it for inspiration in work all the time. ENJOY!
    Love from San Francisco.
